T he brand I selected was Raycon Global, or Raycon for short. They are most well known for their premium earbuds. Many YouTubers and other influencers I watch get  sponsorships from Raycon and they swear by them. I find it interesting because this smaller brand was able to compete with AirPods and Beats and make a name for themselves. Raycon's value proposition can be found on their website and it reads: "To power your journey to the top, our team of platinum artists and leading tastemakers worked tirelessly to design great products you'll love everyday". The best things about Raycon earbuds are their all-day comfort, water resistance, 6 hour playback time, and their price point. These earbuds keep comfort in mind, so they're designed to perfectly fit your ears. The water resistance is important to certain people but the 6 hour battery life is very appealing and a big selling point. To top it off there's a price point of $80 (or $120 depending on which...

Marketing in the News

First off, I searched for an article on this topic because I know it's relevant and I can relate it to marketing. The article I chose is titled "What Can Marketers Learn From Tiger King?" Now if you don't know what Tiger King is, it's a crime documentary series on Netflix starring a zookeeper named Joe Exotic. I'm interested in this topic because every person is talking about this show right now and circulating it around social media. Obviously the creators of this show did something right if their show was #1 on Netflix's top 10 titles list for over two weeks, the longest streak of any show on Netflix. In the article itself, there were three main points related to marketing. 1. Prioritize user experience with the right platform for success 2. Don't be afraid to...

About Me

Hi, my name is Ayden Shonk and I'm currently a freshman here at Linn-Benton Community College. I go to school, work, and live at home with my family, so that's where I'm at in life right now. I'm a business major with a focus in accounting. I'm still thinking about a minor, but I'm entertaining either economics or statistics at the moment. After taking BA101A and BA101B, my advisor and I decided that marketing would be the best business class for me to take next, as well as it being a requirement and fitting nicely into my schedule this term. Marketing is interesting because it focuses on the people, specifically business and consumer relationships. I am interested about the   unconscious  decisions we make when we purchase certain products and how companies can most effectively advertise to a broad audience. The social science aspect of marketing is interesting because I am quite fond of psychology. I am also looking forward to taking psychology and sociolog...
